The recent Microsoft Techfest showcased a range of new technologies including LucidTouch, a mobile device that allows the user to control the application by touching the back of the see-through device.

Banking on technology called pseudo-transparency, LucidTouch makes use of overlaying an image of the user’s hands onto the screen and created the illusion of the mobile device itself being semitransparent. This pseudo-transparency allows users to accurately acquire targets while not occluding the screen with their fingers and hand.

The device, part of Microsoft’s annual display of research projects at the company, reportedly supports multi-touch input, allowing users to operate the device simultaneously with all ten fingers. This device actually sees, reflects and responds to the user’s fingers touching the back of the device.

Transparent concept phone

Transparent concept phone

Spotted on the Yanko Design blog comes this innovative concept device called the What You See Is What You Get.

The phone has a transparent section around the camera lens so you can see exactly what you are taking a photo of without needing to look on the LCD viewfinder.

This seems to be a bit of a backwards step to me, I much prefer to see the picture on the screen rather than looking through a viewfinder. We would love to see transparent phones though.

Morph

Morph

Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes. It demonstrates the ultimate functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces. Dr. Bob Iannucci, Chief Technology Officer, Nokia, commented: “Nokia Research Center is looking at ways to reinvent the form and function of mobile devices; the Morph concept shows what might be possible”.

Transparent Concept Phone

Concept phone are always alluring and innovative. Here is a concept phone that might not have seen before, this phone is completely transparent and see through.

Transparent_Crystal_Phone.jpg

This concept phone is by BloodRabbit, which he thought of while driving home from work. This mobile phone comes in a see-through body and a basic LCD display; its dimensions are that of a credit card. You are probably scratching your head and wondering how the electronics and other stuff like a battery and camera fits in but this a very futuristic concept phone and we have to assume that, the technology in the future will be able to compress electronics to such a size. I am damn sure this phone is just a product of someones imagination and will be hardly commercialized.

Clarifi iPhone Case with Macro Lens

The iPhone has been dedicated in providing entertainment. But like most mobile phones, you always look for one that has a camera. While the iPhone does not really have one by default, there are add-ons you could turn to so that you can snap shots with your iPhone. Such a gadget is the Clarifi iPhone Case with Macro Lens which can help you in taking close-up macro photo shots.

The Clarifi iPhone Case with Macro Lens makes blurry photos of secret documents a thing of the past. Simply slide the built-in lens over your iPhone’s camera and take crystal clear shots of business cards, documents or any other close-up item.

Then you can use those photos with some cool free iPhone apps like Snappr which scans barcodes in stores to find you the best prices, or Evernote which takes photos you shoot and creates a searchable picture database from any text in the photo.

Price: $24.99

Nokia Morph Mobile Phone

Cambridge people from the future development of mobile phone concept. He nanotechnology and detachable speakers included clips from one ear, like a headset or your mobile phone connected to the main speaker. Phone, the nanotechnology to ensure the monitor is both transparent and flexible. Nokia and good, but the problem is already more of the following seven years or earlier.

Futuristic gadget: Mobile encyclopedia on a transparent slide, frame on any object to tell its details!
The transparent slide shown to you here is a mobile encyclopedia. To use it just frame it over an object, such as a building, and subsequently touch on a floor of the building on the slide and it’ll zoom into it and give you the full detail of that building.

This transparent slide is just a concept, which is an idea to clam all the capabilities of Internet onto this super thin mobile device. It’ll feature touch screen, built in camera, scanner, WiFi, google map or google earth, google search, image search all in one slim device.

The super slim device shall contain a link to huge databases of information of every object on earth via the Internet. Just simply get any object framed within the slide, you can then zoom into more details of that object, by having your little finger touch on the slide. Other than buildings, you’ll have almost everything, including finding out more details about a car model, an insect name, what kind of food is served at a restaurant and how much, who built a bridge, etc.

If this gadget gets materialized, nothing on Earth will be as easy as using this super slim device for finding information. Furthermore, it’s tied to various online resources such as online dictionary, Wikipedia, thesaurus etc.

A mobile encyclopedia, futuristic gadget!
